Posted on Monday, 23 September 2013

Today the very first issue of the new, revamped Elle Australia hit newsstands. I ventured out first thing this morning to grab my copy.

And WOW, is this magazine jam packed or WHAT!? 400+ pages of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and home decor articles, filled with promise and excitement. So I'm kind of cheating as I haven't actually read the magazine yet, but I have paged through and boy - I already know I am going to LOVE this magazine! I have high hopes in editor, Justine Cullen, ex-editor of SHOP TILL YOU DROP.
Elle is retailing at AU$8.50, however is you subscribe to the mag within the month of October you can receive 12 issues for only 60 bucks! Visit the website here.

Topshop Unique SS14 London Fashion Week

Posted on Monday, 16 September 2013

It's a Heat Rave!

Topshop dominated the runway this week at London Fashion Week, showcasing their Unique Spring/Summer '14 range.

Sporty, backless and breezy is what we saw on the runway of Topshop's Unique collection. Which is great for us Aussies, in this humid heat, we LOOOOVE effortless styles and light fabrics. Think long summer nights, deserted beaches and prints inspired by Morocco and Africa.

The show opened with model, Cara Delevigne (big surprise) strutting down the (grassy) Regents Park runway in printed silk shorts and a green peplum style top. The collection, dubbed 'Heat Rave', started with a moody blue, green and grey colour pallette, followed by pops of warm peach colours, finishing with fresh white frocks.

The sundress was the star of the collection, with denim (worn low on the hips) being a key look. And if there is one accessory you need next season, it is the rucksack.

Topshop has made quite a name for itself -  being the first retail brand to showcase in London Fashion Week. Leading the front row was legendary fashion icon and model Kate Moss, seated next to Arcadia Group CEO, Philip Green and American vogue editor (really- no intro is needed) Anna Wintour.

What makes Topshop such a smashing success - its accessibility and affordability. Anyone with internet can now wear the garments featured on the catwalk. The same garments seen on celebrities and socialites such as Olivia Palermo.

The good news doesn't end there for us Aussies - Topshop is expanding itself down-under, with its fourth Australian outlet soon to open in Brisbane's Albert Street in December 2013.
