ZARA COMES TO QUEENSLAND!

Posted on Monday 29 September 2014

Since my first experience at Zara in Melbourne I was hooked - everything is my style, from the basic colour scheme to the chic styles.  I find that the fit and the price of most things are just right - however some pieces lack in quality. None the less I've been hanging out for a Zara to open in QLD, and it finally has!

The latest Zara to open in Australia is at Robina on the Gold Coast, which is a bit of a drive for me, but well worth it. The store is only one level, but does not disappoint. I made three trips to the changing rooms and left with damage of $300. There was so much more that I loved but I decided to restrain myself and only get what I really needed - summer shorts, a basic tee and a fitted blazer - and then I splurged a little on a bag. If you live in QLD I definitely recommend you head to Zara, I'll be back there in a month or so!

Basic Summer Staple: Asos V-Neck Tee

Posted on Monday 15 September 2014

On a Monday filled with University work, an Asos package I forgot about was a nice surprise. I only got one thing - a V-Neck tee, and I love it. All these colours are now in my basket too. The tee is well fitting (p.s I always go a size down with Asos brand) and lightweight - perfect for the hot weather that is soon to hit! This Asos T-shirt with V-neck is an essential at only $19.95.

The Peach Box Jewellery

Posted on Thursday 11 September 2014

I recently saw an Instagram quote about how online shopping gives you a reason to live for another three to five days, which my boyfriend totally agreed portrayed my life. I receive shopping parcels on a weekly basis so I guess I'd call myself a 'sort of expert' - and there sure are great benefits, but also a few downfalls. I have had some terrible previous experiences with customer service and shipping issues. Today I am here to introduce to you an AMAZING company and to encourage you all to go and shop!

On my Instagram feed I saw a pair of the trending double pearl earrings I have been lusting after, I clicked on the link and landed on The Peach Box website. I had one of those moments where your heart rate quickly increases, as everything you see appeals to you - beautiful, trendy and what looked like great quality, at affordable prices even a student can afford. My style is very simplistic and I am not a regular jewellery wearer, but I have been trying to incorporate a few more simple pieces into my wardrobe, and I loved everything I saw on the website. I made a purchase of three items with The Peach Box, which came within a week and priced at under $100! BARGAIN

I picked up the Audrey Pearl Swing Earrings (Rose Gold), One Love Heart Ring (Rose Gold) & Urban Hardware Bangle (Silver). The pieces are beautiful styles, which sit as they are suppose to and are well made for the price. As soon as my next pay check comes in I will definately be making more purchases.
P.S First time buyers get 10% off - hurry!

Affordable Workout Gear

Posted on Wednesday 10 September 2014

There's something about buying new workout gear that can be very motivating. If, like me, you refuse to pay $80 for a Lorna Jane crop top, you'll love these workout bargains.
My go to places for affordable workout gear:
Cotton On - Tights & sport bra's
Kmart - REALLY great sport bra's for under $10 & workout accessories such as this colourful cap
Target - Lightweight, breathable workout tanks

August Favourites

Posted on Saturday 6 September 2014

1. Garnier 5 Sec Perfect Blur - This silicone based primer has been a go-to of mine during the month of August. The primer helped my make up last through many hectic nights at the Bribsane fashion festival last month. Affordable and a great product - I use this over my Benefit Porefessional now.

2. Essence Lipliner in 'In the Nude' - Kylie Jenner lips for under $2 - BARGAIN! These essence lipliners are a MUST in your beauty stash!

3. Antipodes Joyous Protein Serum - This serum has been a lifesaver during the dry months. I use it nightly after washing my face and can honestly see the difference in my skin. I picked it up in the 40% skincare sale at Priceline, but at a regular price of $60 this is more of an investment - I promise you won't regret it though.

4. Lacura Renew Hand Cream - Hand cream seems to be one of those things you can never have too many of - one in the handbag, one for the car and plenty more stashed elsewhere. I picked up this handcream from Aldi on a whim. It has quickly become my favourite hand cream, featuring anti-wrinkle properties.

5. Scandal - While procrastinating from Uni and life in general, I decided to follow a friend's advice and watch this series. I became addicted so quickly I finished two seasons in two days. If you're into drama and a little bit of suspense, check this series out.

6. Ikea Peach Candle - There's something about walking into that Ikea isle with all the colourful candles lined up that makes all logic leave my head and convinces me that yes, I do need ANOTHER candle. This peachy scent and pop of colour is perfect for summer - my justification.

7. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Brisbane - It's so pleasing to experience working in an industry and it confirming for you that it is 100% what you want to do. The organisation I am currently interning at organises MBFF Brisbane every year, which meant I got the opportunity to work at the event. It was a whirlwind week that I am sad to see gone.

The Perfect Working Girl Shoes

Posted on Wednesday 3 September 2014

I love how chic a pair of heels can look, but I am rarely comfortable in them. This pair of heels, however, it a total game changer! I feel confident- and can strut around comfortably in them.
These pointed toe stilettos by Spurr shoes are available at a bargain price from The Iconic. Perfectly classy for work or play. Following reviews I did purchase a size up and cushioned the shoes with Party Feet gel heel shields. The Topaz shoe comes in a range of colours and I am definitely picking up another pair in nude.
