Go-To Nude Lip Combo

Posted on Sunday, 28 December 2014

We all have that one lip colour that just works as it compliments all your features without looking like you tried too hard. On days when I am not feeling my best emotionally, I find wearing a nude that I know suits me can really set me at ease. Wearing a lip that you're confident with ensures there's one less thing to worry about during the day. My go-to nude lip colour is a combination of Essence lipliner in 'In The Nude' and MAC Cremesheen lipstick in 'Creme Cup'.

* Because of the lighting and editing of the photo, the colours appear much more pink-toned than in real life.

Summer Wardrobe Essentials

Posted on Sunday, 21 December 2014

Summer, where I live, is HOT! Most days require minimal clothing & lightweight materials, so I decided to put together a few of my summer wardrobe must-haves.

Because you know I'm all about that bass basics, I often reach for staples like this Forever 21 V-neck tee & Lee Cut Off Shorts. When I find a comfortable tee I usually pick it up in a range of colours as you can never have too many. Paired with denim shorts they make a cute and easy casual outfit. The next essential for summer is a lightweight dress, like this one from a label called LAPOA Threads. I have a little bit of an unhealthy obsession with stripes, but the high neck design on this one makes it quite unique.

It's the season sandals are fashionable again, so I picked up these stylish yet super affordable Lipstik sandals in three colours! To further accessorise, sunglasses are a great way to jazz up any outfit & I only just recently picked up these Quay Kosha sunnies from The Iconic (so hurry over there if you like them).
My last wardrobe staple for the season are playsuits - yes these are both playsuits! The first is a beautifully printed playsuit I picked up from my local market. It is such a great piece to grab on the weekend & doesn't require much effort in the styling department. The second is a playsuit/skort from Zara. The bottom half looks like shorts from the back, but a skirt in the front. It is more of a dressy piece but I can still be as comfortable as I'd be in shorts. A smarter looking playsuit or dress is definitely a staple for hot summer nights! That concludes the roundup of my summer essentials, it is probably clear from this post that my style is very comfy-chic and I love my basics! Look out for a summer beauty essentials post coming soon.

Quick & Easy Baking Idea: Brookies

Posted on Wednesday, 10 December 2014

I recently watched a Vlogmas video of LilyPebbles where she featured some seriously delish looking Brookies - a cross between brownies and cookies. The recipe went up on her blog this morning and I decided to make them ASAP. All the ingredients are super simple and I had everything in the house. Instead of me repeating the recipe, you can view Lily's recipe here. I did alter the recipe by adding hazelnuts and using Himalayan pink salt to add a sweet & salty taste.

These brookies taste just like brownies but with a more cookie-like texture. The ingredients are super simple and the recipe is so easy to follow! The batch made over 30 cookies and they went down a treat with my family. I think I will have to make these again adding some peanut butter maybe!

Flats For Days

Posted on Tuesday, 9 December 2014

I adore shoes as much as the next fashionista,  but with my budget it's not something I tend to splurge on. Most of the time I am wearing black leather flats or my Lipstik birkenstock look-alikes. I am, however, trying to add a bit of variety to my shoedrobe and these flats from Big W are just what I needed! Fun and unique at a seriously affordable price .. I got these for $10 a pair! As you can tell I am loving blue this season. Considering the price, I am super happy with the quality of these flats. I suggest you run, not walk, to Big W now!

P.s I am in no way sponsored, just love a bargain!
